I Vote I Count: Election Mixtape 2012

6 Nov

What would all the graphs and charts and incredibly important predictions be without some fitting music to coincide with it?

So get an expensive box of wine and a couple of friends and let’s all toast to the future because the line in the sand has been drawn and we are a few short hours away from realizing our fate.

I’ve never pacified my political opinions yet only once have I felt convicted enough to really bring them into focus and that was in May of 2011 with my Generation Without A Voice post which I feel just as strongly about (if not stronger) as I did the day I typed it up. That being said I have no intentions of putting my own beliefs as to who I’m hoping to see become the new/continued face of America as this foul year of our lord comes to a close.  Though I will say this, I find it offensive that I could not write-in Ron Paul on my Indiana absentee ballot, if we’re still here in 2016 my last hope is that he runs again.

Whether you believe in the system or not, whether you are convicted about one candidate or another, whether you choose not to vote out of apathy or disgust or laziness, wherever it is you stand I hope your opinions are educated ones, well founded and open to being changed given new information.

Close-mined unintelligent decisions, sticking to a specific political party, allowing one source, ESPECIALLY FOX NEWS, to be your only way of experiencing politically related information is the pinnacle of backwoods ignorance. I’m fine about disagreeing with someone, I am wrong as often as I am right, at the least I know exactly why I feel the way I do with solid justifications as to why…. you should as well.

I’ve thought about this song more and more often these last few weeks as the propaganda machine has kicked into high gear. I am personally endorsing “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here And Drink” for the official song of the 2012 election.
